Our project group at X is composed of scientists and engineers and we’re on a mission to leverage cutting-edge techniques from Physics and AI to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. Our team is small and agile --- every member has to take on a variety of roles and work on a wide breadth of projects.

About the role:

As a Product Manager you’ll bring your experience and knowledge to ensure multiple initiatives transform into the right products and reach the market in a successful way.  You will drive deployment of our software platforms and execute on our go-to-market strategy. Your diverse technology market expertise, product vision, meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills will empower your responsibility to drive the execution of our overall market & product strategy. Most importantly, you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of software development, eager to learn new skills, and excited to collaborate with colleagues across Alphabet. 

How you will make 10x impact: 

  • Own Product(s) Definition(s) + Roadmap(s) and associated documentation (PRDs, MRDs)
  • Drive cross-functional product coordination + execution spanning our scientists & BD/Partnerships, and hardware teams  as well as legal, finance, & marketing.
  • Drive Product Launches + own product program lifecycle management +new product concept vetting, in collaboration across team(s)
  • Lead target market definition +go-to-market & business strategy in collaboration with colleagues across X, Google and external intelligence
  • Over time, lead a team of Product Managers
  • Be a Leader on the team, and a member of the Leadership Team while you “Roll up your sleeves” and get stuff done as the product lead

What you should have: 

  • Expertise in computing market and building software products for enterprise
  • 10+ years of experience in product, market strategy, and/or supporting sales teams with technology 
  • Experienced leader of quickly- growing teams  - excellent management skills
  • Is exceptionally organized and detail oriented - equally comfortable conducting, composing -- and improvising but at the same time able to deal with uncertainty and fluidity
  • Wise to know which processes are good to install within the organization without slowing down the rapid path of growth and the creativity of the scientists and engineers
  • Have worked with deep technical knowledge products, had to quickly learn multiple disciplines and cross pollinate them to bring the best out of each. Eager to learn. 
  • Both ambition to gain responsibility and humility to get your hands dirty and execute
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent field

It’d be great if you also had these: 

  • Familiarity with data analysis / ML and  numerical methods for scientific computing
  • Expertise in hardware-accelerated computing, especially TPUs
  • Experience with JAX and/or TensorFlow
  • Domain expertise in one or more of computational Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Pharmaceutical Development, Cryptography, or Finance
  • Entrepreneur experience or having worked in a fast growing startup
  • Lived abroad and/or with an international background, speaks +2 languages.
  • Physics, Chemistry or equivalent field PhD.
